This fabulous antique Victorian Sterling Silver Moonstone Butterfly clasp brooch is Circa 1880.

Butterfly or insect jewellery is highly collectable and was a symbol of good luck to the wearer during the Victorian Eras.

Set with six scintillating glowing Moonstones that have a blue schiller radiating from within.

The beautiful Moonstone has a lovely ghostly hue and has been a tangible connection to the magic of the moon. An amulet of protection to the travellers, a gift of lovers for passion, a channel for prophecy, and a path to wisdom.

The beautiful butterfly is also decorated in lovely Pearls and complimented with red cabochon Garnet eyes.

The Garnet has been adored throughout history for it’s deep red colouring which is said to be a stone of purity, truth and a symbol of love and compassion.

The brooch wings squeeze together which opens the back clasp so that the brooch can be fitted securely to the wearer.
